About the comic Seven students at the Goddard School of Astronautical Engineering aboard Strongwater Station in the year 2118 are tied together by their assignment to the November (or N) Shift for scavenging duty. Scavenging is a brand of work-study job wherein students retrieve and catalog space junk for the dual purpose of recycling precious metals and equipment as well as decluttering the low Earth orbit environment, which is becoming dangerously congested with debris. About the author Gwendolyn Vines is a graduate student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics, working towards her Ph.D. She firmly asserts that engineering and art are not mutually exclusive interests, thank you very much, as proven rigorously by the pins on her bookbag that read, respectively, "Love art" and "<3 an engineer". About the site Special thanks go to J. Mahood for the Ruby on Rails set-up and coding of the site, which is hosted on Heroku, and to M. Ansel for the suggestion of Ruby/Heroku. Site layout and CSS were done by the author in Dreamweaver. Thanks Special thanks to W. Fick and M. Gustafson, without whose kind words and support this comic would never have left orbit.
